Need to take a break from the city and distractions of technology in exchange for simple relaxation and outdoor activities? Our getaway house at Lake Cushman, located an approximately 2 hour drive from Seattle, is just that. Nestled in the foothills of the Olympic National Forest, the Lake Cushman community offers recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming, nearby hiking, golf, and tennis.
A short drive from our house are Lakes Kokanee and Cushman, where you will have access to these two scenic lakes and several waterfront parks. We have a double kayak available for use and there are additional boat options for rent in the area.
Just down the hill from Lake Cushman is the town of Hoodsport, WA where you'll find a few small shops, restaurants, and even a winery along the shores of Hood Canal. This whole area is a popular destination for hikers.
Our house is quiet, simple and clean with 2 bedrooms (1 King sized bed and a bunk bed), a living room, kitchen, & 1 bathroom. The house comfortably sleeps 4 in bedrooms, but can sleep 5-6 using the pull out futon in the living room.
Technology Information: Unless you have Verizon, cell phone coverage is spotty at Lake Cushman. This is the price we pay for being surrounded by majestic mountains. There are a few places in the Lake Cushman Community where wifi and cell phone coverage can be accessed. The house does not have wifi or cable, but does have a dvd player and a television on which to play them.
